Steven M. Sylvester

Steven Sylvester is an Associate Professor in the Department of History & Political Science at Utah Valley University. Dr. Sylvester received his doctorate in political science from the University of Kansas in 2016. His research focuses on the intersection between politics and health policy issues - including vaccinations, Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, and the opioid epidemic. His work has been published in journals such as Policy Studies Journal, Political Research Quarterly, Social Science Quarterly, Journal of Health Politics, Policy and Law, and others. Dr. Sylvester is also the Director of the Master of Public Administration program within the College of Public Health and Public Services at Utah Valley University.
